we take great pride at kona in providing our guests with healthy & full-flavored food created from the freshest produce, baked goods, seafood, & meats available. we never deep fry or hide our food behind heavy sauces or oils, creating a casual dining opportunity for our guests to enjoy great food while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. in addition kona is very reasonably priced so our guests can enjoy great food without breaking the bank.

3012 madison road in the heart of oakley square on the east side of cincinnati

sounds great, when can i come?:
kona bistro opens at 11 a.m. -  7 days a week.
kona is open until 10 p.m. sunday - thursday,  & until 11p.m. friday & saturday.

does kona take reservations?:
kona accepts reservations for groups of 5 or more. call for reservations: 513.842-5662 in cincinnati & 513.523.0686 in oxford.

i don't have cash, do you accept credit cards?:
kona accepts visa, mastercard & american express in both locations.
we also accept m.u. bucks at our oxford location.

i have lots of friends, how many people can kona seat?
in oxford, kona can accomodate 140 guests in our three separate dining areas: the main dining room & bar, the mezzanine with the knife & fork art gallery, & the european-inspired outdoor courtyard.   special events & reservations can be arranged in oxford by calling kona at 513.523.0686.

in cincinnati, oakley square, kona can accomodate 140 guests in our two dining areas: the main dining room / bar   & the more private knife & fork gallery.   special events & reservations can be arranged in cincinnati by calling kona at 513.842.kona.

the private dining space in each location can comfortably seat up to 45 guests or accommomdate up to 50 for a standing room event.

what's your story? a brief history:
kona bistro first opened for business on september 24, 1997 at 31 west high street in oxford, ohio. the concept for kona was developed to fill a niche in oxford, ohio for FRESH, GOURMET FOOD from an ECLECTIC MENU in a CASUAL, URBAN, FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT. design, menu, recipes, music, attire, & even the glassware are all part of the original concept created specifically for kona.

kona is one of a kind experience - that can now be enjoyed in two great locations!

kona bistro opened another great dining opportunity in august 2004 for our guests in the cincinnati area at 3012 madison road in historic oakley square.   our unique neighborhood concept, fresh food, eclectic menu in a casual, urban, friendly environment is now open for business in the big city too.

what's up with the name?
the name “kona” comes from the region in hawaii where the kona coffee bean is grown, one of the world’s best coffee beans. “kona” is meant to suggest the coffee, which is flown in monthly from Hawaii, while also suggesting the quality that is associated with the word. “bistro” is a french term for small restaurant. in the united states, “bistro” has also come to suggest a restaurant that is small, hip, fast-paced, community-based, while focusing on creative a la carte dining.

How to find kona...

cincinnati:
kona bistro is located at 3012 madison road in historic oakley square in cincinnati. kona is in between dewey's pizza & oakley cyclery, directly across from the oakley square park.

madison road is most accessible from I-71, smith edwards exit.

from northern cincinnati, take I-71 south to smith edwards exit, turn left off highway onto markbreit. follow through one traffic light. turn right onto madison road, & kona will be on your right.

from southern cincinnati, take I-71 north to smith edwards exit turn right off of highway, passing rookwood pavilion. turn right at second traffic light onto edwards. turn left at second traffic light onto madison road. kona will be on your left with the large black awning as you enter oakley square.

oxford:

kona is located at
31 west high street in historic uptown oxford. historic oxford’s business district is four blocks long. When traveling north kona is on the third block on the left, with kona being two doors north of first financial’s digital clock in the bright blue building.

high street in oxford is also U.S. 27. this makes kona easily accessible from cincinnati, ohio in approximately 25 minutes (take I-275 to the colerain avenue exit and follow signs for U.S.27 north. kona will be on your left in uptown oxford).

kona is also easily accessible from richmond, indiana in approximately 25 minutes (I-70 intersects with U.S. 27 SOUTH. kona will be on your right in uptown oxford.)
